| Graduate Program: Program Descriptions |
The Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry offers two Masters Programs with different focuses. The M.S. in Chemistry focuses on gaining a broad understanding in the discipline while the M.S. Chemistry: Concentration in Biochemistry is geared more for biochemistry/ biotechnology sector. Students are required to select a discipline/research group prior to their second semester. |

| Elective requirements |
A maximum number of elective credits (12 for Chemistry, 6 for Biochemistry Concentration) may be applied toward the degree with the consent of your advisor/instructor. Electives include:
- all upper division or graduate courses(Chem 300 and above) by the Chemistry Department.
- Courses from other disciplines such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, or biology selected through consultation with thesis or graduate advisor.
